Our Exchange Program

Shih Hsin University (SHU) welcomes international exchange students. We have more than 170 partner universities , students are from all over the world. 8 % of student population are international students. You will be accepted into our vibrant campus and quickly fall in love with the beauty of Taiwan. SHU which is located in the capital city of Taiwan was founded in 1956 by the late, renowned journalist and publisher, Mr. She-Wo Chen. Originally an institution devoting itself to training professional journalists, Shih Hsin University became a comprehensive university in August 1997. SHU has four colleges and two language teaching centers: College of Journalism and Communication, College of Management, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Law, English Teaching Center and Chinese Teaching Center. SHU has been named one of the few “Teaching Excellence Universities” by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education since 2005.

    100 is the maximum grade, 60 is the passing grade.
    100-80=A  ; 70-79= B  ; 60-69= C  ;Below 60=D

  • Step 1:Nominated by your Home University
  • Step 2:Submit required documents
  • Step 3:Get the letter of acceptance from SHU
  • Step 4:Reply course selection ,  airport pick-up service and dorm application form
  • Step 5:Flight to Taiwan !!!
Buddy Program

Each exchange student will be allocated to at least one Taiwanese student buddy. They will help you to get familiar with the life in SHU and Taiwan.

Chinese Learning

Exchange students can take free Chinese courses in SHU. We have Chinese language course from beginner level to advanced level. Students will have at least four hours of chinese language course per week.            Center For Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.

Cultural Events

Each semester International Academic Exchange Center will hold some cultural activities for exchange students. Exchange students not only can have more opportunities to make friend with people from all over the world, but also can learn more Taiwanese cultures.
